Multi-Band Compressor Plugin 1.06

This AUv3 compatible audio compressor functions seamlessly as a plugin within various popular digital audio workstations (DAWs), including Cubasis, Meteor, Auria, and GarageBand. It features a contemporary graphical interface and offers a set of presets alongside stereo meters for effective signal level monitoring.

An audio compressor plays a crucial role in managing dynamic range by reducing the volume of sounds that exceed a predetermined threshold while simultaneously amplifying quieter parts. This results in a more balanced overall level of the compressed signal, enhancing its integration within the mix.

There are situations where differing amounts of compression are required across specific frequency bands, particularly noticeable when processing drum tracks. In such cases, users can isolate elements like the kick drum and snare, enabling them to boost the kick's presence while controlling the snare's dynamics.

This multi-band compressor allows the user to configure four distinct bands, each with adjustable parameters including threshold, ratio, gain, attack, and release times tailored to individual needs.

An automatic gain mode, often referred to as make-up gain, is included to facilitate an automatic boost in signal level as the threshold is reduced. Once the compressor gate engages, users can simply adjust the gain accordingly.

The effect efficiently divides the frequency spectrum into four bands using three crossover controls. Additionally, gate and peak indicators for all four compression bands aid in visual monitoring, while the capability to mute specific bands offers further flexibility in shaping the mix.
